Neighbor-to-Neighbor Campaign

Before

After

RAI is committed to supporting healthy recovery communities. Not only is it a part of our Mission it is a part of who we are. It’s why we are here.

Hurricane Helene came in with a furry in Western NC on September 27, 2024. The devastation of its wrath has already been well documented and disseminated via mainstream media, so we are familiar with the devastation it left in its wrath.

We're here to help!

RAI is launching a campaign to help our fellow community members impacted by Hurricane Helene on their road to recovery

Beginning Thursday, December 19th we have a goal to raise ($XX,XXX?) funds for  INSERT WHO those who serve others — get them to the symposium – our fellow non-profit team members that work in the Mental Health or Substance Use Disorder field.

Many of us, approximately ⅘ of the population in the United States will never fully understand the mental and emotional toll that natural disasters force upon the human psyche.

However, for those of us in recovery, there are significant similarities between the process of SUD recovery and natural disasters.

One of our team members, who lives in Western NC describes her experience of the similarities and impacts that she has recognized between these two seemingly disparate occurrences.

  • Acceptance of reality - looking at the aftermath…
  • Grieving and loss - the old way is no longer, a grief process
  • Beginning again - rebuilding - leaning on your community - asking for help
  • It’s hard work - long road - but it’s a road to recovery
  • As an individual I do have a responsibility to my broader community. I contribute to the health and development of my community.

We encourage you to join us!

Any amount of assistance counts! Please click below to contribute to your neighbor, and your fellow community to help them on their road to recovery. All proceeds will be donated.

Please help us reach our goal by sharing this message! Together we can provide support and most of all hope by showing that we are a unified community and helping each other when times are tough.
